UKRMP and the Canadian Stem Cell Network (SCN) are committed to translating stem cell and regenerative medicine science from the lab to clinical applications. Both organisations are dedicated to training the next generation of regenerative medicine scientists and together are seeking to form an international partnership to enable PhD students, technicians, post-doctoral associates and fellows the opportunity to expand their networks, develop new skills and form collaborations between the two countries.

This symposium is the first in a two parts series aimed at introducing the wealth of research being undertaken in each of the two countries; featuring talks from expert speakers working in the areas of stem cells and regenerative medicine for discovery or in the development/clinical translation of stem cell and regenerative medicine therapies. Register here to attend.

Participants are encouraged to attend to take this opportunity to expand their networks internationally. In Summer 2022, UKRMP and SCN will be hosting Connecting Canada and the UK Part 2: Building Networks; a networking event which will give participants the chance to have one-on-one discussions with colleagues in Canada and the UK.

UKRMP to exhibit at the 2021 Till & McCulloch Meeting hosted by the Stem Cell Network, Canada

By | Acellular / smart materials – 3D architecture, Engineered cell environment, Latest, News, Pluripotent stem cells and engineered cells

In our continued efforts to develop strong international partnerships, the UKRMP Hubs will be exhibiting (virtually) at The 2021 Till & McCulloch Meeting (TMM) – hosted by the Canadian Stem Cell Network from November 15 to 17.

Celebrating is 10th year, the Till & McCulloch Meetings are named after Canadian researchers Drs. James Till & Ernest McCulloch, who definitively proved the existence of stem cells in 1961. The TMM is Canada’s largest stem cell research and regenerative medicine conference.  This is a great opportunity to discover what Canada’s leading stem cell scientists, clinicians, bioengineers and ethicists, as well as representatives from industry, government, health and NGO sectors have to offer.

PSEC welcomes Dr Susanne Sattler to their International Scientific Advisory Board

By | Latest, Pluripotent stem cells and engineered cells, Uncategorized

Dr Susanne Sattler, an independent Research Fellow, and UKRMP alumni , who now leads the cardio-immunology group at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London, UK, has agreed to join the PSEC scientific advisory board, following the departure of Professor Paul Fairchild, who recently stood down to focus on his clinical activities.  Dr Sattler has extensive research experience in cardiac immunology and regenerative biology and has contributed a significant body of research on the role of a persistent inflammation-autoimmunity loop in tissue immunopathology hampering regenerative efforts.

The PSEC executive team are thrilled to welcome Susanne to the iSAB and would also like to wish Paul the best of luck, with many thanks for his input over the years.

International Partnership – UKRMP and The Stem Cell Network, Canada

Establishing International Partnerships.

Stem Cell Network Logo

The UK Regenerative Medicine Platform (UKRMP) and the Stem Cell Network (SCN) in Canada are committed to translating stem cell and regenerative medicine science from the lab to clinical applications. Both organisations are dedicated to training the next generation of regenerative medicine scientists and as such are seeking to form an international partnership to enable PhD students, technicians, post-doctoral associates and fellows the opportunity to expand their networks, develop new skills and form collaborations between the two countries.

We aim to deliver a series of events and opportunities which are desirable to highly trained professionals within the field of regenerative medicine. We are planning to develop a scientist exchange programme and to hold job fairs, talent exposés and workshops to encourage UK and Canadian scientists to interact and expand their networks. If you would like to suggest an opportunity that we have not yet thought of, please get in touch with one of the UKRMP project managers: Zoe Hewitt, Robin Morton or Bohwon Kim.

Scientist Exchange Programme

We are looking to establish an exchange programme with stem cell laboratories in Canada, so that either UK Scientists can visit a Canadian lab to learn a new technique or skill or a UK group can host a Canadian scientist.

  • Is there a technique you would like to learn?
  • Could you offer cutting edge training and potentially establish a new collaborator?

Please register your interest here.

Job Fairs and Talent Exposé

Are you keen to present yourself to a wider network of potential employers?  Or are you interested in recruiting from a broader pool of applicants?

Are you interested to hear about different roles which you might not have previously considered?

Together we would like to present a transatlantic opportunity for both UK and Canadian researchers and employers to find their perfect fit.

Please register your interest here.

Collaboration Workshop

We are planning to host a workshop to bring together UK and Canadian researchers and provide opportunities to enable networks to form and ideas to be developed.

Please register your interest here.
