With her colleagues at the University of Cambridge, PSCP Post Doctoral Research Associate Dr Loriana Vitillo was Executive Producer on the short science film “Dish Life” – what scientists really feel about the stem cells they look after.  Dish Life has won a bronze award at the Raw Science Film Festival in Los Angeles (2016) and was awarded National Runner-up at the Bristol Science Film Festival (2017).  In October 2017, Dish Life made the New York Times “10 things to do in NY” whilst being shown at the Imagine Science Film Festival.

Dish Life is one of four films made by Cambridge researchers for the 2016 Cambridge Shorts series, funded by Wellcome Trust ISSF. The scheme supports early career researchers to make professional quality short films with local artists and filmmakers. Researchers Dr Loriana Vitillo (Stem Cell Institute) and Karen Jent (Department of Sociology) collaborated with filmmaker Chloe Thomas.
