(FIRM 2018)

This is a conference organised by young researchers for young researchers. The main focus of the conference is to provide a platform for early career researchers to share, learn and network in a comfortable environment.  The objective for FIRM 2018 is to allow delegates to think about the wider challenges of the regenerative medicine and cell therapy area which might be unfamiliar to them. Facilitated discussion will take place across areas such as regulations, IP, clinical trials, manufacturing and reimbursement through a range of keynote speakers and “Bench to Bedside” workshop series.

Confirmed speakers and presenters include:  Prof Georg Duda – Julius Wolff Institute, Germany; Prof Katarina Le Blanc, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden; Dr Alexander Knöbel, Miltenyi Biotec, Germany; Prof Matteo Santini, University of Brighton, UK; Prof Tim Woodfield, University of Otago, New Zealand; Dr Karen Coopman, Loughborough University, UK; Dr Mark McCall, Loughborough University, UK and Dr Thomas Heathman, HCATS (PCT), USA.

Previously, the young researchers’ presentations have covered a wide range of topics, including basic biology, cell and gene therapies, tissue engineering, biomaterials, enabling technologies and commercialisation.
